Hoverboards Explained

A hoverboard is basically a wheeled, self-balancing scooter used for personal transportation and it is used in a standing position. Hoverboards run on lithium batteries, like other electric vehicles. A hoverboard is lightweight, smart and also easy to move but it takes quite some time to get used to it. These personal transporters can be used on flat surfaces such as public areas and sidewalks.

The hoverboard is also referred to as a self-balancing scooter, but it does not hover. It has two wheels and a base on which you can stand on. The hoverboard uses self-balancing technology to keep the rider upright. The sensors detect your movements, and this is how you control the gadget. You should lean forward in order to move forward and vice versa or move in the reverse. A hoverboard’s total speed will vary, and this one of the major features you should consider when purchasing one.

There are two general differentiations in the market now: standard hoverboards and handrail/knee-bar hoverboards.
Self-balancing and Hands Free

Stand-up Hoverboard

What is it

A regular stand-up hoverboard is a self-balancing scooter without a supporting knee or handrail bar. Its main features typically include a waterproof body structure, bluetooth technology, on-board lighting and fast charging lithium battery. Stand-up hoverboards are best used on flat paved surfaces and are not recommended for off-roading.

Who is it for

Stand-up hoverboards are best for those with easy access to good quality paved surfaces.
